Ruby Anne was born and raised in Brownsville, TX just a few miles away from South Padre Island and Boca Chica Beach. She began her singing career at the age of 3 when she would perform for her Mother, Maria Del Refugio Perez. The first song that began her career was “Querida” by Juan Gabriel.
Ruby attended Castañeda Elementary and was later transferred to Cromack Elementary where she joined Choir and won her first music award in an all female competition which motivated her to pursue a career in singing. She then graduated from Cromack and attended Faulk Intermediate School where she took an interest in acting. When she was in 8th grade, she was awarded "Best Actress of All of Brownsville". Ruby was also part of the volleyball team , basketball team, cheerleading squad, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Choir. Ruby attended Good Sheppard Catholic Church with her mother where she also sang during church service and prayer groups in homes.
She began her freshman year at Gladys Porter High School at the age of 13 and continued to pursue her singing, acting, nursing classes and sports hobbies. 1999 marked her Graduation year and she attended UTB/TSC soon after.
At just the age of 20 years old, Ruby was hired by the Brownsville Police Department and attended their Police Academy. She graduated the Police Academy in 2003 and has served her community since. In 2017 she was appointed the Community Affairs and Public Relations Officer and the United Way Loaned Executive for the department. October 1, 2019 she was awarded Hometown Hero by Texas Regional Bank.
May 23, 2021 sparked the beginning of her Tejano Music Career with the release of her first single “Mi Cumbia”, written by A.B. Quintanilla III and Luigi Giraldo and produced by Robert “Bobbo” Gomez III and Noe “Gip” Nieto (RIP). Ruby’s Second single “Porque Duele el Amor & Por Un Segundo along with another song that’s locked away awaiting the release were worked on with Grammy Nominated Producer Severo Contreras and SlackMonster Studios.

Ruby Anne’s Third Single “Por Un Segundo” was released in May 2022 dedicated to her late mother, María del Refugio Perez and the victims and survivors & families of Uvalde, Texas.
Ruby Anné worked on her Fourth single with none other than Robert “Bobbo” Gomez III who also produced “Mi Cumbia” along with Gip James Nieto ✝️.
Ruby Anne’s Fourth Single was released February 2023 “Ay Dios Mio” but that’s not it!! The remix ft. WC would be following this release. Recording Artist SC reached out to Ruby Anne to work on a collaboration on this hit single. The “Ay Dios Mio” Remix would be released on June 23rd, 2023 along with the amazing Music Video. Both the song and music video made the charts and were nominated for the 1st round of the Premios Tejano Mundial.
Ruby Anne was recognized and awarded the 1st Annual Broche de Oro 2022 Excellence Award as the Hispanic Culture Ambassador for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Ruby Anne was nominated and asked to perform at the Allstar Music Awards in San Antonio, Texas in 2023.
In November 2023, Ruby Anne was the only female artist to receive a Recognition Award by the Brownsville Music Legacy Awards.
December 2023 marked the 3rd successful Ruby Anne's Christmas Drive where she gives back to her community which included schools/headstarts, hospitals, Nursing Homes and the Brownsville Animal Shelter.
2024 is a big year for Ruby Anne. She is working on new music with a new sound with Legendary singer/producer SHELLY LARES, ShellShockRecords. This new music and sound will bring you songs she has been striving to achieve and dreamt for some time now. She is also working on new music with producer Mario O, BabyGrandRecords, Jay Perez's former musical director and producer and now working with Jennifer Pena.
Ruby Anne continues to work with producer, lead singer and owner of the norteno music group “Estruendo” ELISEO LOPEZ, who is producing her new music, giving it the extraordinary norteno sound and vibe. Eliseo Lopez produced her latest single “T.Q.G” which has topped the charts at #1 on it's 1st week of it's release! The “T.Q.G.” music video is in the works and will be produced by Award Winning Producer Ryan Bazan.
February 29th, 2024 Ruby Anne will be performing at Sombrero Festival for the 6th year in a row on the Main Stage. We hope to see you all there as this year will be amazing since Ruby Anne will be performing along side her band.
March 1st & 2nd she will be participating in the Charro Days Parade for the 3rd year in a row sponsored by the South Texas Conjunto Association and other amazing special guests- TIKTOK Sensation “JoanJeanette” & Recording Artist “WC”.
